Medicinal Marijuana

Medicinal marijuana is a medication compose of compounds similar to those produced naturally by our bodies, use to alleviate certain medical conditions like fibromyalgia and chronic back pain. Additionally, medical cannabis may reduce nausea and vomiting caused by chemotherapy treatments as well as help alleviate spasticity (tight muscles) experienced by multiple sclerosis patients and treat glaucoma and seizures.

However, current literature lacks an in-depth evaluation of cannabis for medicinal use and more studies should be done to explore its use as medicine. Furthermore, marijuana may reduce immune system function which could decrease infection resistance in those with health or age-related vulnerabilities.
